Day 6: Launch EC2 Instance
🚀 Day 6: Launch EC2 Instance | 100 Days of Cloud (AWS) Welcome to Day 6 of the 100 Days of Cloud (AWS) series! In this hands-on lab, you’ll learn how to launch an EC2 instance, one of the most fundamental tasks in Amazon Web Services. As part of their incremental cloud migration strategy, the Nautilus DevOps team is provisioning compute resources step by step. In this lab, you will deploy a virtual server with secure access and default networking. 📌 Lab Objective: Launch an EC2 instance with specific configurations in AWS. 🛠️ Task Requirements: Instance Name: datacenter-ec2 AMI: Amazon Linux Instance Type: t2.micro Key Pair: Create new RSA key pair named datacenter-kp Security Group: Default security group Region: us-east-1 💻 Steps to Launch EC2 via AWS Console: Log in to the AWS Management Console. Select the us-east-1 (N. Virginia) region. Navigate to the EC2 Dashboard. Click Launch Instance. Enter the instance name datacenter-ec2. Choose Amazon Linux AMI. Select instance type t2.micro. Create a new key pair: Name: datacenter-kp Type: RSA Choose the default security group. Keep other settings as default and click Launch Instance. 📚 What You’ll Learn in This Video: How to launch EC2 instances in AWS Understanding AMIs and instance types Creating and managing SSH key pairs Configuring security groups Connecting to EC2 instances securely Real-world cloud provisioning practices 🌟 Why This Lab Matters: EC2 is the backbone of AWS compute services. Learning how to launch and manage instances is essential for any DevOps engineer or cloud professional. 🎯 Series: 100 Days of Cloud (AWS) Follow along to master AWS services like EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, storage, and more through real-world labs. 🔔 Don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe for more cloud tutorials from OtterTech! #AWS #EC2 #CloudComputing #AmazonWebServices #DevOps #Cloud #Linux #Nautilus #100DaysOfCloud #OtterTech #Day6
