DCS: AREA18 Mission 2

This is the second mission of A.R.E.A18 campaign. This is an "interlude" mission that serves as a prelude to the attack on Lavan Island in the next mission. In this case we will not play as the main protagonist "Eco", but as an helicopter pilot. Keep in mind that you can choose between different aircraft in the AREA campaign, which adds a lot of replayability. All ATC comunications during the mission are done using BetterATC mod. ********************************************* BRIEFING: In order To secure strategic control over Persian Gulf transit corridors, High Command has authorized the immediate seizure of Lavan Island. Our objective is to take this strategic chokepoint and establish a bridgehead in the northern Gulf archipelago, currently occupied by the Crimson Freebooter Dominion. For that, the capture of Lavan will be executed in three distinct phases. EXECUTION PLAN: - SEAD & AIRBORNE INSERTION- The primary objective is the military command complex on the West Coast. This site houses the enemy’s main EWR (Early Warning Radar) and SAM control hub. AREA4C, the naval operations wing of the A.R.E.A. Group, is already on station off the coast to support this insertion. Phase 1: You are ordered to link up and suppport Pontiac. Upon your command, Pontiac will advance and neutralize the complex's perimeter defenses. The EWR Array System must remain intact for our future use. Do not engage the radar masts. Phase 2: Once the perimeter is clear, Dodge will be authorized to ingress. They will deploy Tier-1 operators to seize the facility. You are responsible for Combat Air Patrol (CAP) throughout the insertion. (NOTE: At this point you can press ESC and swap to a UH1-H slot, using the "choice of role" window, to conduct transport operations along with Dodge.)
