This is how I lay out and cut/put to use a tree seat. Just a bit of plywood and rope. The plywood is 5/8" thick. The rope is anything that might not stretch much. The holes are 1/2" for the rope.
These seats changed the way I hunt. I am way more apt to go deeper into the woods with a comfortable and light weight seat than taking my climbing stand. all day sits are doable, and if the location is not suitable, or you want to change it up for some reason, then you can move within just a few minutes.
