V Kaladharan talks about the origins of the unique music of Kathakali. We also talked to some of the musicians and got their take on the origins and influences of their own instruments like the Maddalam, Chenda and Idakka, among others. Vocal traditions and sources, the rules to be followed, etc. are also discussed at length. The film concludes with a beautiful rendition of a Padam composed by Muringoor Shankaran Potti in Raga Shree titled "Ajitha Hare Jaya Madhava Vishnu".
