Decorating Using Christmas Patterns | Imprintables Warehouse
SPECTRA® Patterns are a great way to get a one of a kind look on a single layer, cut graphic. We offer a plethora of different stock patterns, which you can also adjust the color to get a specific look that you may be looking for. I’ll be using SPECTRA® Patterns Vintage Stockings to create a one of a kind, full color, ugly Christmas sweater for our upcoming Ugly Christmas Sweater party. Materials & Tools: SPECTRA® Patterns Vintage Stockings SPECTRA® Eco Mask GCC i-Craft™ Hotronix® 16”x20” Auto Open Clam Sure Cuts A Lot IV Weeder Squeegee Creating the Artwork: Using Sure Cuts A Lot IV, I traced a free deer silhouette that I found online. This allows me to send it to cut on the GCC i-Craft™ within minutes. The GCC i-Craft™ is great for one offs due to its size and ease of use. Since I didn’t want to do anything elaborate for this design, Sure Cuts A Lot IV allowed me to trace and cut my design without any fuss. The GCC i-Craft™ comes with a sticky mat that allowed me to use a scrap of the Vintage Stockings SPECTRA® Pattern. Remember that you will not mirror your design when working with SPECTRA® Patterns. Once our design was cut, I weeded away the excess material so that I was left with only the deer shape. Masking the Design Since SPECTRA® Patterns are printed, I needed to use SPECTRA® Eco Mask to transfer the design from the backing to the shirt. To make life easier on myself, I masked the pattern by forming a “U” with the mask and starting in the middle. Once complete, using a squeegee I pressed all of the air out of the graphic. From there, I started on one corner and peeled the mask away from the backing. Starting at one corner and removing in one fluid motion allowed me to get a cleaner transfer. Applying SPECTRA® Patterns apply at 300°F for 15 seconds. Once the Hotronix® 16”x20” Auto Open was preheated, I adjusted my pressure to a medium or 4-6 and pre-pressed my shirt to remove any wrinkles or moisture. Then I measured down two inches from the neck of the sweater to get a good placement of the graphic, then heat applied. SPECTRA® Patterns are a warm peel. It is that easy to create a one of a kind, full color Christmas sweater using the SPECTRA® Patterns. December can be a slow time in some shops. Don’t forget that customization is popular year round. Offering personalized options for funny holiday shirts, sweaters, etc is a great way to keep your shopping going during the winter months. Facebook and Etsy are great marketing options for funny, personalized garments. On top of that, Christmas pajamas are a fan favorite for the holiday season.
