He has played with Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Gladys Knight, The Four Tops, Barbra Streisand, Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett and George Clinton among others. His song "Scorpio" - which he performs here - was an international top ten single and is one of the most sampled tracks of the hip hop era.
