Our third and final webinar in the basic training series deals with process engineering basics and design principles of reverse osmosis units.
After looking at water analyses in the first webinar and pre-treatment in the second, we now turn to the core of water treatment systems: reverse osmosis units.
The main topics are as follows:
• Basics of reverse osmosis (parameters, membrane types, structure of the RO)
• RO design (ion balance, design programmes, interpretation of results)
• Parameters with major influence on the design (temperature, EC, CO2, antiscale, membrane age, etc.)
• Typical process chains and achievable product qualities (concentrate-staged RO, permeate-staged RO, RO+EDI).
