Detached chain stitch

Detached chain stitch is used in a lot of patterns, and is a great stitch to consider for your own designs. My favorite thing about this stitch is just how easily it can be modified - you can make this stitch long and loose, all the way to short and tight. If you’re here for help with a specific pattern that uses this stitch, my advice is to take a look at the reference image and note the looseness of the stitches on the sample hoop - that will give you a better idea of just how tightly you’ll want to pull your floss.
