Learn how to create a matrix and calculator tool in Microsoft Excel to determine the optimal die opening or v-die size. The matrix is a great tool for brake press operators, programmers, or engineers to look up the optimal die opening. The calculator tool will allow you to determine what die size to use given any combination of bend angle, material thickness, and inside bend radius. We will use the equations we derived in the last video to build these great tools that any sheet metal manufacturer can use.
