Devi Shabdam

Devi, the Goddess, the One who protects and blesses. The wife of Shiva, the Lord of Dance. She inspires my voice and movements. I ask her for enlightenment. In the ocean of life, with its huge waves that shake me, She seats on a beautiful lotus flower. She is the Goddess of music, arts and knowledge. She dances as well as Shiva. They are different but equal in their power and their relationship is very playful and full of love. Without rain would there be any crops, trees or animals? Would life exist? In the same way nothing is possible without the blessing of a guru. Oh Devi accept me as your child and bless me. I learnt this piece from Renjith Babu and Vijna Vasudevan in October 2019, during a workshop organized by Accademia Sangam in Milan. ---------- Devi, la Dea, Colei che protegge e benedice. La moglie di Shiva, Signore della Danza. A lei dedico il mio canto e la mia danza e le chiedo di illuminarmi. Nell'oceano della vita con le sue enormi onde che mi scuotono, Lei siede su un meraviglioso fiore di loto. È la Dea della musica, delle arti, della conoscenza. Danza bene quanto Shiva. Sono diversi ma il loro potere è paritario e la loro relazione è giocosa e piena d’amore. Senza pioggia ci sarebbero raccolti, alberi, animali? La vita potrebbe esistere? Allo stesso modo nulla è possibile senza la benedizione di un maestro. Oh Devi accettami come un tuo bambino, benedicimi e proteggimi.
