Devotional: Genesis 16:1-2
What do you do when God’s promises take longer than you expected? In Genesis 16:1–2, we see a moment of impatience that feels all too familiar. God had promised Abram a son, yet years passed with no fulfillment. In the waiting, Sarai proposes a solution that seems practical, reasonable, and even culturally acceptable. Abram listens, and in doing so, steps outside of what God had said. In this message, we explore how waiting can test our trust. Even when we know God’s promises and have seen His faithfulness, we can still be tempted to take control and create our own outcomes. What starts as impatience can quickly turn into compromise. But this story is not just about Abram and Sarai. It is about us. It reveals how easy it is to trust our plans over God’s timing, especially when the delay feels long and the promise feels distant. You will be challenged to examine where you may be forcing outcomes instead of trusting God, and reminded that God does not need our help to fulfill what He has promised. In this video: • Why waiting is a critical part of the faith journey • How impatience can lead to compromise • What Abram’s decision reveals about trusting God’s timing • Why God’s promises require trust, not control If this message encouraged you, share it with someone who may be struggling to trust God in the waiting. #genesis #Faith #TrustGod #Waiting #Grace #BibleTeaching #ChristianLife
