Dexcom Australia - Smash the Stigma Campaign
Almost 1.9 million Australians are living with diabetes, and a national survey shows over 300 people are diagnosed each day — that’s 1 every 5 minutes.(1) Yet despite how common it is, there is still a misunderstanding about living with diabetes. A recent Dexcom survey(2) reveals that 68% of people who are living with diabetes have personally experienced a stigma about the condition. We are on a mission to change the narrative about living with diabetes and empower people to share their stories – because no one should feel ashamed for managing their health. Whether you are living with diabetes, support someone who does, or simply want to be part of the conversation, we encourage everyone to get involved by sharing your story or a stigma you'd like to smash on social media and include the hashtag #SmashStigmaDexcom. Help us Smash the Stigma. For good. Reference: 1. Diabetes Australia. Diabetes in Australia. Accessible at www.diabetesaustralia.com.au/about-diabetes/diabetes-in-australia. 2. Data on file.
