After over a week of barely being able to walk due to a flare up of gout it was great to get out on the Shengmilo MX03 fat bike for wee round trip down to Aviemore. However on the return leg just after putting in a fresh battery the bike started to play up with rapidly fluctuating voltage levels before loosing all power and the display showing an error code of 006! Apparently the error number is for low voltage and the voltage reading on the display was dropping before increasing again then dropping as I tried to get power before it finally gave up supplying the motor. I initially thought it might have been water on the electrics due to a couple of stream crossings but after checking everything out I later found that the fault had actually been caused by a faulty battery connection which was burning out. I have since replaced the faulty connector with a spare from a similar replacement part and the battery seems to be behaving itself despite splicing the wires with 'Scotch Lock' connectors rather than soldering the tiny connector pins, video later! Also I came across this on Reention Dorado batteries, so it’s obviously an issue on many e-bikes, see https://hilleater.ca/blog/repairing-a-bad-connector-on-the-reention-dorado-downtube-battery/?fbclid=IwAR1zJCG81oWmz5Tr4HnO2kISJmdsqrcDd_cvkuKvNVMvTJNNvYELOzWaJOs&fs=e&s=cl
