The Dillon 550 is a wonderful tool to produce high precision reloads with streamlined and fast workflow. It's been on the market for several decades now and has undergone various upgrades and revisions. It seems that tolerances and linkage has been improved over the years and I would consider modern 550C models almost an out-of-the-box solution.
One aspect about the 550 that I've had to tune and tweak a little with any 550 I've used so far, it's the shell plate mounting. Watch me illustrate the issues I've been having with the shell plate mounting and the tweaks I am using to fix them. Maybe you can relate to some of these issues and these fixes might work for you as well.
