In this video, we cover why you need a dining fly, how to build it, and set it up.
Dining Fly Components:
Fly Tarp (10’ x 12’ Tarp)
(2) Front Poles 8’ long ripped from 2 x 4 lumber
(6) Side Poles 7’ Long ripped from 2 x 4 lumber
(8) ¼” x 2 ½” bolts with heads removed. Drill ¼” x 1” holes in the top end of each Fly Pole. Epoxy bolt in place to hold Tarp and Guy Rope during erection
(2) Main Ropes 14’ long 3/8” soft fiber tied on one end to ( 1” flat washer w/ 5/8” center hole? ) half hitches
(6) Side Ropes 12’ long 3/8” soft fiber tied on one end to ( 1” flat washer w/ 5/8” center hole? ) half hitches
(8) 1’ long Metal Tent Pegs from Academy
All ropes secured to Tent Pegs with Taunt Line Hitches
Patrols may use 2 hammers
