In the webinar "A Radical Practical Approach to Buying Block Data Storage" organized by The Register, Alex Ivanov, Product Lead at StorPool Storage, talks about StorPool's solution, the function of the StorPool systems, and the distributed shared-nothing architecture. The StorPool cluster nodes perform all functions on an equal peer basis. Input/output operations are processed across the whole cluster. This eliminates the bottlenecks related to metadata processing, improves overall performance, and ensures that there are no single points of failure in the storage system. The distributed shared-nothing architecture enables us to do non-disruptive everything - patching, updating, upgrading the system, adding new servers, adding drives, removing servers or drives, etc.
