DIY Flight Sim Vertical Control Panel Button Box
I built this vertical panel for the left hand side of my sim rig to control functions such as landing gear, flaps, jettison and weapon arming. I have mounted it in the position previously occupied by my BlackHog b-explorer controller (which I relocated to the right hand side of the rig). I am aiming for a modular multipurpose rig with controls that can be used across several different aircraft rather than focusing on one specific cockpit control scheme. With this in mind, the input labels and switch heads can be changed to suit whichever aircraft I am flying. The distinct shapes of the custom switch heads also make flying in VR a bit easier (when locating controls with touch alone). Hope this provides some ideas and inspiration to all you sim builders out there!
