DIY Laser Engraver

DIY Laser Engraver I built this because…well…I wanted it I guess. Didn’t have a huge need for it but who doesn’t want a cool laser. The laser module is 2.5w and can engrave a lot of different materials, only limited by you and if the surface isn’t reflective. Being that it uses Marlin, it is really easy to tweak and mess with if you need to. The CoreXY platform is super simple to setup as well. The whole design even more simple with the lack of wires and z axis. What that means is the set of limits given to me by the materials on hand. Linear rails that were a given size, framing that was given size, motors, control board, and other such constraints that limited my machine. With all of that in mind, this thing turned out awesome. I have used it to make quite a few little signs for friends, family and customers. Hoping to increase that because this thing is so fun that I want to justify financially building a much bigger unit.
