DIY Rustic Mountain Headboard

This headboard was taken from a post off of reddit under the user name Ryguychu and made my own. It uses 1 by 2 strapping that was cleaned up on the thickness planer and ripped on both sides down to 1-3/8" to joint the edges on my table saw. The piece of plywood used as a backer board is 1/2" in thickness. The boarder is 2" deep by 1.25" wide to accommodate/hide the french cleat on the back which is used for mounting to the wall.
