In this lecture, EKG is going to cover DNA structure, function, and organisation. We’re going to break down how the structure and chemical properties of DNA carry genetic information; how genes are arranged in the long DNA molecules that form each chromosome; and how eukaryotic cells fold and package these molecules into compact chromosomes inside the nucleus. Lastly, we’ll look at how this packaging can be altered to allow access to the underlying DNA for processes like DNA replication and repair.
