Do You Need Comfort? Psalm 91:1–2 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” There is nothing like resting in the mighty hands of God in times of trouble, distress, and discouragement. When you fall on your knees before God and say, "Here I am, Lord, your humble servant, going through a pretty rough time," the Lord sits on the edge of His throne, looking down toward the earth, directly at you. In that moment, He sends you help and comfort. God tells Gabriel to go down and encourage the one who calls on me for help. Everyone faces hardships and moments of discouragement. When you pray in your secret place and call upon God, He listens. In that moment of humble submission, you are under the shadow of the Most High (Psalm 91:1). By fully trusting Him (Psalm 91:2), you will be sheltered by His feathers, and you will find comfort beneath His wings (Psalm 91:4).
