Dockhand Deep Dive: The NEW Docker Management Tool Explained
In this deep dive, I walk through Dockhand - a brand new Docker management platform that makes it easy to manage single or multi-server Docker environments. After multiple viewer requests, I finally got Dockhand installed and tested, and I'm sharing everything you need to know. Dockhand is a self-hosted Docker management solution with no SaaS component, no phone-home behavior, and complete privacy. It features multi-server management via the Hawser agent, Git integration for deploying containers directly from your repositories, automated security scanning with Grype and Trivy built-in, scheduled Git sync for automatic redeployments, and comprehensive notifications through Apprise. I cover the complete interface, demonstrate managing multiple Docker hosts, show how to deploy containers from Git repositories, configure security scanning and notifications, and walk through both SQLite and PostgreSQL installation options. Important Note: Dockhand is a very new project (first commit ~3 weeks ago), so keep that in mind as you evaluate it for your environment. 🔗 Dockhand Resources: - Dockhand Website: https://dockhand.pro/ - Dockhand GitHub: https://github.com/Finsys/dockhand - Dockhand Roadmap: https://dockhand.pro/#roadmap - Lawrence Systems' Dockhand Video: https://youtu.be/F7aXfYGf5q4 ⏱️ Timestamps: 0:00 Intro 1:09 Disclaimers 1:12 Disclaimer 1 1:19 Disclaimer 2 1:45 Disclaimer 3 2:22 Dockhand Website 3:43 Dockhand Install Methods 5:43 More Dockhand Website 6:57 Dockhand Demonstration 7:15 Dashboard 8:42 Containers 11:11 Logs 11:59 Shell 12:32 Stacks 15:15 Using Git to Deploy a Stack/Container 20:41 Images 21:50 Scanning Images for Vulnerabilities 23:18 Volumes 23:30 Networks 23:43 Registries 23:53 Activity 24:15 Schedules 24:38 Settings 24:41 Settings: General 25:33 Settings: Environments 26:30 Settings: Registries 26:38 Settings: Git 27:21 Settings: Config Sets 27:42 Settings: Notifications 28:53 Settings: Authentication 29:30 Settings: License 29:36 Settings: About 29:46 Adding A Remote Environment 30:23 Installing the Hawser Agent On Remote Host 32:03 Configuring Hawser Agent in Dockhand 33:10 Additional Remote Host Settings in Dockhand: General 33:18 Additional Remote Host Settings in Dockhand: Updates 33:59 Additional Remote Host Settings in Dockhand: Activity 34:08 Additional Remote Host Settings in Dockhand: Security 34:27 Additional Remote Host Settings in Dockhand: Notifications 35:43 Video Wrap Up #docker #homelab #selfhosted #dockhand #dockermanagement #portainer #linux Subtitles generated by WinWhisper. /=========================================/ ✅ Amazon Wishlist: https://dbte.ch/amznwishlist Get early, ad-free access to new content by becoming a channel member, or a Patron! ✅ https://www.patreon.com/dbtech ✅ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVy16RS5eEDh8anP8j94G2A/join All My Social Links: ✅ https://dbt3.ch/@dbtech Join Discord! ✅ https://discord.gg/M9J6hFq /=========================================/ ✨Ways to support DB Tech: ✅ https://www.patreon.com/dbtech ✅ https://www.paypal.me/DBTechReviews ✅ https://ko-fi.com/dbtech ✅ Cashapp: https://cash.app/$dbtechyt ✅ Venmo: https://venmo.com/dbtechyt ✨Come chat in Discord: ✅ https://dbte.ch/discord
