Does Strava Kill Sessioning?

Whilst sessioning a section of trail I wondered why some people dont like doing it and what might make people feel that way about it. I once wrote “Sessioning is not Strava“. And it isn’t, sessioning, stopping mid trail to push back up and practice a corner, drop or feature does not win PBs and KOMs. Or does it? Sure, on any particular ride a sessioned trail will sit you at a time of 20 to 30 minutes instead of 2:30 on Strava. But surely its obvious, that never stopping to assess the trail, to practise specific skills and only riding the Strava race, is counter intuitive to progression? Inarguably Strava will make you faster, too a point, by encouraging you to attack and ride with the clock counting against you in your head. I've written about Strava and sessioning in the past on the blog a few times, find those ramblings below. https://stravaigingmtb.com/2016/02/14/strava-its-complicated/ https://stravaigingmtb.com/2017/01/25/sessioning/ Remember to like and subscribe, also feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions. _________________________ T-Shirts & Merch! https://teespring.com/en-GB/stores/stravaiging-mtb _________________________ Elsewhere on the web More on my site! https://stravaigingmtb.com Instagram https://www.instagram.com/stravaiging_blog/?hl=en Face Book https://www.facebook.com/Stavaiging/ _________________________ What I Ride Banshee Spitfire https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JsXa-K-u09o A Bike Called Sven https://youtu.be/Ua8gpgOrc8M
