This is a departure from my guitar related videos. For folks who are looking for a non-toxic way to get rid of weeds in their dirveway or sidewalk, this video shows you how to do so cheaply without the nasty poisons. I use a mixture of vinegar (30% strength), table salt and dish detergent. I purchase the white vinegar from a home repair store (Like Lowe's or Home Depot), cheap generic table salt. I mix:
1 gallon of the strong vinegar
1 cup of table salt
2 Tbsp of dish detergent
You can mix this in a bucket or a cheap pump sprayer if you need to do a large area. The vinegar is quite strong and can cause burns if you leave it on your skin or get it in your eyes. Wear eye and hand protection or at the very least, wash any spillage off your skin immediately. This mixture works very well and will kill nearly any plant or weed, so be careful to spray only on the plants/weeds you want to get rid of. (Although this is considered non-toxic, do not allow any person, child or animal to drink the mixture as it can make them sick or worse.)
