Dogtra Edge E Collar Review

The Dogtra Edge is our favorite collar if you have 3 or 4 dogs. We love Dogtra, and it is the number one brand we recommend and use with our clients. So before purchasing any E collar, you need to make sure your dog is fully trained and has a reliable recall. Once you have achieved this and follow a good proofing plan, then your dog is ready for an E collar. That being said. if you only have one or two dogs, we would recommend the Dogtra Arc. This is mainly due to its cost effective price point. The Edge RT is also an option if you only have 3 dogs. So let's talk about the specifications the Dogtra Edge brings to the table. The Dogtra Edge has a 1 mile range, which is a lot more than most E collars on the market. It is expandable up to 4 dogs on one remote! It has a super fast charger and an amazing battery life! It also comes with a dual selector dial, which allows you to have a more precise level of stimulation, but a bigger range if you have dogs who have very different levels. This collar also comes with built in prong extenders which are super nice especially with dogs who have a long coat. As we mention, buying this unit plus 3 additional dogs can easily put you over $1000 dollars. However, the cost per dog is not super crazy considering that this is a product that lasts a long time with an excellent warranty! Another thing we do not like about the Edge is it is difficult to switch between vibrate and correction. Most Dogtra collars will have separate buttons allowing corrections or vibrations to be more seamless. Because of this, it does take some getting used to! If you are using this for 3-4 dogs, you also need to be aware of what button you are using so you are not pressing the wrong button! The receiver itself is also super bulky. With all the being said, this is a premium product and the best E collar solution for families with 3-4 dogs. Like many things in life, you get what you pay for, and what you get here is a collar that you can rely on when you take your dog in an off leash setting.
