Domeless Engines

Merry Christmas to all my subscribers! (I can't stand the Winter Holiday controversy myself) Here's a special Christmas present for all to enjoy! *** When the famous City of Truro visits Sodor, Gordon can't help but feel jealous. His attempt to beat the domeless engine's 100 mph record ends in disaster, however, when he encounters a troublesome wind on the viaduct. *** Here are some comments. The hardest part of this episode involved Gordon's dome. It was extremely hard to find angles I could use to animate the wind blowing the dome away. More importantly, the right viaduct was tricky too, and I ended up using Train4755's Welsh Valley layout to depict a windswept countryside. The shed scenes use his RWS layout also, and it was a treat to film in an actual RWS accurate location. Keep up the good work, Lewis! City of Truro, like it or not, has been given a face in this adaptation. My reason is clear: Wilbert Awdry's golden rule was that engines had faces on Sodor. Besides, it is far harder for Duck to talk to an inanimate smokebox door than a face. This is only my interpretation, after all, so changes have been made to suit the narration, the illustrations, and myself. Please keep an open mind.
