In the State of Jammu and #Kashmir, #Doodhpathri, also known as the Valley of Milk, is a popular tourist destination and hill station. It is situated in Jammu & Kashmir's Budgam district. Elevated to 8,957 feet above sea level, the location is 42 kilometres away from Srinagar, the state summer capital, and 22 kilometres away from Budgam, the district headquarters. Etymology and History: "#Doodpathri" translates to "Valley of Milk." It is believed that Kashmir's most revered saint, Sheikh ul Aalam Sheikh Noor din Noorani, worshipped here. Once, while searching the meadows for water to offer prayers, he punctured the ground with his stick to find water, and milk appeared. He inquired about the milk, saying it should only be used for drinking and not for washing. Upon hearing this milk, the meadow was named Doodpathri, and its state immediately changed to water. From a distance, the water that is currently running through the meadows appears milky, and it is always extremely cold. Its beauty is further enhanced by the silver-shining streams that flow over the big stones and the lush green grasses that cover the expansive meadows. #Doodhpathri consists of grassy, sloping landscapes that reach Chang, adorned with a variety of multicoloured flowers. To the west of Doodpathri is the site of the renowned Tosamaidan. Geographical: Doodhpathri is located 2,730 metres (8,957 feet) above sea level in a bowl-shaped valley in the Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas. It's an alpine valley with pine and deodar meadows and snow-capped mountains. In the spring and summer, wild flowers like daisies, buttercups, and forget-me-nots flourish in the naturally occurring meadows that are blanketed in snow during the winter. Adventurers can partake in a variety of activities, including automobile rides, horseback riding, paragliding over meadows, crystal-clear rivers, and trekking across majestic mountain ranges.
