Doom Infinite [Doom 2 Mod]

Break the cycle of death and rebirth or face being lost to the infinite. This is a five level playthrough of the "Doom Infinite" demo, hope you enjoy. DifficultOldStuff's "Doom Infinite" v 0.978.6 demo turns Doom's gameplay into a roguelike experience, complete with upgrades, interactive stats and customization options. The premise is that from randomly selected levels, mainly from the first four episodes of "The Ultimate Doom", you have to score points via killing enemies for the required threshold to open the exit. Whilst these maps contents are left intact, there are randomly applied items and enemy spawns throughout. Now gameplay wise, there is an weapon modding system, a powerup system, new items and weapons added to provide an incredible variety to playthroughs. There is also a curse buildup system, increasing the difficulty with each success, adding new hazards and possibly make once familiar maps nigh unrecognisable. The moddb page recommends a couple addons to complement the mod; "Doom Metal Soundtrack Mod - Volume 5" & "Nash's Vengeance Edition" v1.01, although the latter has been superceded by "NashGore NEXT" (v1.0) and requires later versions of GZDoom. I'm not sure which version would work with the updated Nash mod, that would take some time to work out. Otherwise this mod is stated to be incompatible with most other mods. Please note, the gameplay maybe liable to change. Additionally, it requires GZDoom 4.8.2 or higher to work though the latest versions of GZDoom are incompatible with it. This wasn't a difficult fix however as ZDoom's site has an archive, located under 'archive' then 'bin', with the various past versions of the GZDoom located there. Overall, this offers a fantastic challenge; it has excellent replay value, a wide variety of enemies and offers fast paced action amongst its pickups and mods. I would definitely recommend it to those who like the roguelite genre.
