Tried a different strategy to beat Easy mode on Baseplate again. It worked, so I added modifiers. Another thing: Don't add Battler's Curse or Cola modifiers if you don't even have any Intermediate+ towers. I managed to beat Easy mode with both the Jumpscare and True Bloxxer modifiers. Definitely a good day to do this.
