Here's the description and chapters for the UI tutorial: 📺 YouTube Description Introduction to the New User Interface in DOTE 2.0 This tutorial introduces the completely redesigned user interface in DOTE 2.0, showing you how to take full advantage of the new flexible, customizable layout system. If you are coming from version 1.0, where panels were mostly fixed in place, this video will help you get oriented quickly and start building a workspace that suits the way you work. The starting point is the standard default layout, which will feel familiar to DOTE 1.0 users. From there the tutorial walks through the key elements of the new interface: the traditional file, edit, and help menus, now supplemented by a new Ribbon Bar running across the top of the window. The Ribbon Bar brings together quick access to the most frequently used features, including the Project Manager, Media Manager, checkpoints and auto backups, import and export, project information, and DOTE settings, all without needing to dig through menus. Each panel in DOTE 2.0 now has its own set of contextual buttons and controls relevant to what that panel does. The media player panel has its own set of playback and view options, while the editor panel groups together tools for working with sync codes, annotations, transcript clips, and search and replace. One of the most significant changes in version 2.0 is how freely panels can be repositioned and resized. Panels can be moved by drag and drop to any position in the window, stacked as tabs, or placed side by side. You can add extra media player panels and timeline panels and arrange them however makes most sense for your current task. Panels can be maximized for focused work and shrunk back down again, and individual panel controls can be collapsed or revealed as needed to keep the workspace clean. The tutorial also demonstrates how to save your own custom panel layouts. Once you have arranged panels the way you like them, you can save that configuration with a name and description and recall it instantly at any time from the layouts menu. DOTE 2.0 comes with several built-in default layouts, including a wide timeline view, a two-media-player view ideal for comparing camera angles, and a complex multi-panel view with three players on each side. Finally, the tutorial covers the application layer modes: complete, compact, and minimal. These control how much information is shown in the interface at any given time, scaling from full labels and buttons down to icons only or even a clean zen mode with everything stripped back. The UI scale itself can also be adjusted up or down to suit your monitor and eyesight, and shortcuts are available for the most common layout actions so you can switch modes without interrupting your workflow. 00:00 Introduction 00:15 What Changed from Version 1.0 00:43 The Standard Default Layout 00:50 Panels and Layouts Menu 01:01 File, Edit and Help Menus 01:38 The New Ribbon Bar 02:08 Panel-Specific Controls: Media Player and Editor 02:40 Movable vs. Locked Panel Positions 03:37 Resizing Panels 04:21 Maximizing and Minimizing Panels 05:25 Drag and Drop: Moving Panels Around 05:33 Adding a Second Media Player Panel 06:48 Adding a Second Timeline Panel 07:57 Using Two Independent Timelines 08:40 Saving a Custom Panel Layout 09:04 Recalling Saved Layouts 09:29 Example: Complex Multi-Panel Layout 10:14 Application Layer Modes: Complete, Compact, Minimal 11:02 Shrinking and Enlarging the UI Scale 11:34 Zen Mode and Panel Actions 12:06 Returning to Full View 13:36 Outro
