The Double Ring Infiltration test measures the infiltration rate of the soil, or how fast will water drain into the ground. Commonly requested to provide parameters for retention/detention pond and stormwater structure designs, the test offers more accurate results than the more common “percolation” test or borehole infiltration test. This test method is lengthy, often requiring up to 4 hours of data per test to meet the testing requirements.
