Dragons In The Rain

This one is special. The book, not the song, although I worked hard and long on this track. Author Chris Evans book Of Bone and Thunder is Apocalypse Now meets Joe Abercrombie in the best possible way. This book is a retelling of the Vietnam war as seen through the lens of a fantasy world and in my opinion, it's the most underrated book in the history of underrated books. In the authors own words: "A land of thick jungle and mist-swirled mountains. An enemy moving unseen beneath the lush canopy. The growing threat of thaumics—a magic wielded by few that threatens to destabilize all. The youth of a kingdom sent to fight in a faraway hell while back home, discord and disillusionment reign…" I read this way back in 2014 and it struck a chord so deep that it still resonates to this day. This was my hardest song to produce yet because I really felt it deserved to be presented with the same swamp rock flair that bands like CCR used to narrate the Vietnam war experience.
