Sedgling is an organic tangle. Organic tangles grow and often look like plants or even animals. I think Sedgling looks like a flower. It is also a beginner tangle and a texture tangle. It can morph to fill any space and adding Perfs, or black dots in the case, in the spaces between and it adds a fun texture to your art. I have always drawn Sedgling as a stem with rings on top. I recently discovered that the founders of Zentangle deconstructed it to be a spiral on top of a stem. Had I been drawing it wrong all this time?!? Well, of course not. There are No Mistakes afterall. I was drawing a variation of Sedgling. So, in this video I’ll demonstrate, step by step, how to draw this tangle 4 ways. I’ll show you how to draw it with spirals and with rings. I also show you how to add drama to this tangle and how it can be decorated.
