Drive Belt Replacement
This video shows how to replace the drive belts on the ABRA Autoblaster CNC. Replace the belts if the machine is slipping, not moving smoothly, skipping steps, or if you notice missing teeth or visible belt wear. Process overview: Remove the screws holding the cover and take the cover off. Remove the tensioning wheel assembly by taking off the plastic covers and removing the mounting screws, note that newer machines may have one screw and older machines may have two. Remove the brass belt clamp by removing the two screws, then remove the holder and take the old belts off. Feed the new belt through from the front of the machine, route it around to the back, and through the tensioning area. Wrap the belt and slide it into the grooves between the brass and aluminum holder, trim the belt if needed, then tighten the clamp screws with an Allen key until the belt is secure. Adjust belt tension using the tensioning wheel at the back of the machine, making equal turns on the top and bottom to keep the wheel straight and parallel. After several turns, check tension by hand and continue adjusting until snug. Reinstall the plastic covers, reinstall the main cover, and snug all screws only after they are all started and aligned. Safety: Power off the machine before removing covers or working around belts and moving parts. Tools: Allen key, basic hand tools as shown in the video.
