In this video, you will watch 1) How to work with simulation in DSSAT Model 2) How to create files 3) How to calibrate and validate experiments etc 4) Weather 5) An over view of the model The DSSAT model was released for the first time in 1989 and at that time, it included only four crop models that are CERES-Maize (Jones and Kiniry, 1986), CERES-Wheat (Ritchie and Otter, 1985), SOYGRO (Wilkerson et al., 1983), and PNUTGRO (Boote et al., 1989). In spite of its more than thirty years of existence, CERES-Maize continues to top the list as the most widely used maize model globally and remains the mother-seed of other maize models, including in the APSIM (Keating et al., 2003) and the CSM-IXIM (Lizaso et al., 2011). A comprehensive review on the CERES family of models, including CERES-Maize, has been presented in a review paper published by Basso et al. (2016). An important model for crop simulation modelling, climate change impact assessment and identification of the sustainable farming system. Widely used model and one of the popular models in the world.
