The Dynamic Data Recorder (DDR) is one of the newest data acquisition (DAS) innovations from DTS (Dynamic Technical Systems). The DDR (Dynamic Data Recorder) is the smallest ultra-low power event data logger available. The standalone 6-degrees-of-freedom (6DOF) data logger measures up to 5000 sps/channel of linear and angular acceleration. This webinar hosted by by Kyvory Henderson, DTS systems application engineer, details this rugged data logger’s features, set-up, and potential applications. This video includes a brief overview of DTS data recorder history from one of the first data loggers, up to the TSR 6 DXC, with CAN bus communication device. The new DDR (weighs about 2gms), can conform to almost any shape, has numerous features including a standalone shock and vibration recorder, blue tooth capabilities, wireless inductive charging, flash memory, flight sensor, microprocessor, and both triaxial linear accelerometer and triaxial angular accelerometer. See the setting up of the data recorder with the DDR control software and see real time data from the linear and angular accelerometers. Also discussed are this portable data loggers’ applications. The DDR can be used for sports/biomechanics – in helmets and shoes/gloves for monitoring head strikes and impact, Aerospace//Military testing – in army helmets and for drones, and Medical applications from protective equipment to pharmaceutical manufacturing (it’s small enough to fit into a pill bottle).
