Dub techno session - Winter (re:fraction reshape)

Let’s celebrate Midsummer with a brand new re:fraction remix: a ten-minute Digitakt dub techno live arrangement with 8 tracks, done for the Pirahna Siberia label. Thanks to Alex and Oleg for giving me this opportunity. Just like a summer vacation, remixing is like leaving my own creative workbench and do something different for a while, which helps me recharge my creative batteries. Yesterday was Midsummer's Eve, one of the most important and beloved holidays in Sweden, a joyful celebration of summer, light, and nature. It always falls on a Friday between June 19th and 25th, coinciding with the summer solstice when the sun barely sets, especially in the northern parts of the country. Midsummer's Eve has roots in ancient pagan traditions that centered around the summer solstice. Many of its most iconic customs directly reflect these older beliefs. The summer solstice is the longest day of the year, a moment of peak light and warmth after the long, dark Scandinavian winter. For pre-Christian societies, the sun was a vital life-giving force, essential for crops and survival. Midsummer was a time to honor the sun's power and ensure its continued strength. The entire atmosphere of Midsummer, with its emphasis on staying up late in the perpetual twilight, is a direct homage to the sun's dominance.
