Duration Down During Lunch Prep.

In this video, I am practicing the Duration Down or the stay command, as some would call it. It was essentially 25 minutes long, but I have compressed the boring parts down for the sake of time. Food can be a big trigger for so many dogs. They want to smell, investigate and hopefully partake of some tidbits. In the video, you will see Rozee make several mistakes which we correct and direct her back into position. One of those times is about halfway through when Brian walks up from the back of the house. Rozee let's out a big bark and breaks. She has not seen or heard Brian today, so doesnt know it is him. Granted he is always here so she shouldn't really react that way. But, she does so we simply address it and carry on. I could have just as easily used the place command, but I wanted to work on the down command. Staying in a down can be somewhat harder for some dogs because there is no boundary as a reference point for them.
