E-Plex 5000 Series Lock - Change the Master User Access Code

In this video we’ll show you how to change the Factory Code or current Master User Access Code (referred to as, “Master Code”) for an E-Plex 5000 Series Lock. In order to perform this operation the required user level is “Master”. First, put the lock into Pushbutton Programming Mode by pressing the “#” button followed by either the Factory Code (if the lock is still in Factory Mode) or current Master Code. In this example we use the Factory Code “1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8”. Once complete, press the “#” button. Next, enter the command, “0, 0, 0” followed by the “#” button. Now enter your new Master Code followed by the “#” button. We’ll use “8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1”, followed by the “#” button, for the example. To confirm enter your new Master Code “8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1” again, followed by the “#” button. Press the “#” button again to indicate the end of programming. From this point forward the factory code is no longer valid, and you will always use your chosen Master Code. Please write the code down and keep in a safe place.
