I am currently working on modifying the stock exhaust on my wife's daily driver X5M. To have easy access to the rear muffler, I had to cut it off the rest of the exhaust and then use clamps to make it easily removable. While doing all this, I decided to record a quick video of the car with no muffler. While it does sound better, with the way BMW has the exhaust manifolds set up, they have sacrificed exhaust note for improved turbo spool. I appreciate the improved performance, but I will also admit that it makes the car sound like an angry hairdryer. AMG definitely wins in the exhaust department. We will se what an X-pipe does for it...
