It is part of a breed of newer VPN services that aim to allow users to get up and running with zero configuration. Using Tailscale on your Raspberry Pi has numerous advantages when building your VPN. One of the most prominent is that it is incredibly easy to set up. You don't have to worry about port forwarding or firewall issues, as the connection is routed securely through Tailscale's network. All aspects of your Tailscale network can even be managed through its web interface. This allows you to manage access to a device or evict it from your network without physical access. Additionally, by using Wireguard as its base, you know that your connections will be highly secure and super-fast, without the hassle that often comes with setting up a VPN. One of the best things about Tailscale is that they offer a rather generous free plan for personal use. You can connect up to 100 devices, including Raspberry Pi's, to your network without paying anything. If you want other users to connect, plans start at a relatively affordable price.
