This egg shell is from an ordinary store bought chicken egg. Yes, you can carve a chicken egg shell! I made a tiny hole in the top and bottom and blew the yolk out with a straw. The egg shell was extremely fragile but with some careful carving it worked! If you do accidentally break or chip a piece you can use super glue gel to glue it back together and keep working. It's also a good idea to wear a dust mask while grinding the egg shell since it makes very fine dust.
