With the Unity package "Cinemachine" you can create nice camera handling and an easy camera follow for your player. This tutorial is dedicated for 2D, but some things can also be applied to 3D. The tutorial covers the following parts: Installation of the Cinemachine package, creating a 2D virtual camera, setting the camera to follow the player, explaining the damping value, how to create a offset so the player is not centered, explaining the deadzone value, the pixel perfect extension, changing size and rotation of the camera and how to set virtual borders for the camera with the CinemachineConfiner extension.
