EC2 Server Creation & SSH Access Explained | Devops Lab Practice and Foundation @Devops-2025
In this video, we are keen on explaining AWS EC2 Server Creation and Access in a step by step, lab-practice manner. Initially, we focus on creating an EC2 instance manually, since understanding the basics is critical before moving towards automation using DevOps tools. Basically, we start with IAM access keys and secret keys, because why because automation and cloud tools require secure authentication instead of username and password. That is where access keys play a major role, and this is where most beginners face pain points. Sequentially, we move to EC2 instance creation using Ubuntu OS with a free-tier instance type. Meanwhile, we explain key pairs, networking defaults, and security groups, which are important touch points in real-time projects. Once the server is up and running, we demonstrate SSH access using a PEM file, check system details like RAM, CPU, disk space, and OS. Hence, this leads to better understanding of infrastructure behavior. This ensures you can verify resources efficiently and effectively. Compared to manual login methods, SSH access is more secure, whereas password-based access is not recommended. Despite of simplicity, beginners often face technical huddles, which we address with clear explanations and live commands.
