ECQS / Ground Fighting
Some highlights from our ECQS Ground Fighting Course over the weekend. • Make sure that the day you are forced into a position where you have to fight for your life; that it’s not the first time you spend time in that position/situation. • Spend your training time wisely and advance those fundamentals/concepts to different positions/situations. • The only time we are going to the ground is when cover forces us to go to the ground or the attacker force us to the ground, the rest of the time we want to be on our feet moving. • You should also understand why the attacker wants us on the ground; most of the time he wants to restrict our mobility or he is pinning you to the ground so that the rest of the attackers can kick, hit, stab or shoot you. • Before you start any self defense training ask yourself the following question, “will this system teach me how to survive an attack today? Not 10 or 20 years ago, Today? Will you be able to survive an attack in the form of being ambushed, caught flat footed or totally surprised? • “Intelligence is the ability to ADAPT to CHANGE.”
