ECW Anarchy Rulz is the last game of the WWF War Zone saga. If you haven't read our story of WWF Attitude and ECW Hardcore Revolution, we recommend that you do that with these links: WWF Attitude: https://youtu.be/Cw6r4vPB2iA ECW Hardcore Revolution: https://youtu.be/hhllR54JW9M ECW Anarchy Rulz was released by Acclaim Entertainment for the PlayStation and Dreamcast during 2000 and 2001. It was also the very last game featuring ECW before the organisation went bankrupt in April 2001. Just as many earlier wrestling titles from Acclaim, ECW Anarchy Rulz is based on the engine that was developed for WWF War Zone. And it shows. The menus are basically the same, the graphics are beginning to look old (for being 2001) and there are still many segments from WWF in the game (such as moves and taunts). There are very many unique moves added to the game, with none being removed. Some moves are in twice under different names (in the same fighting position). For example, the "Wham-Bam Thank-You Ma'am" and the "Double Arm DDT" are the same move. Acclaim tried to battle the WWF feel of the game by adding many new match types. Among these are the Street Fight, Table Match, Inferno Match, Dumpster Match, and Team Rumble. Beside the above, there is not much to mention. You have your basic Career mode, where you begin at the bottom of the ECW World Television Championship rankings. Every time you win a match, you progress up one rank, or go down one place if you lose. You also have the Belt Tour Mode, which basically is a four round "King of the Ring" style tournament. The reception from critics was fairly bad to moderate. 6.5/10 from GameSpot, 3.8/10 from IGN and 4/10 from EGM just to mention a few. No other than die hard wrestling fans should go for this game. Or if you can get it for real cheap - do it. It's still a fun 4 player game.
