Last month the National Research Institute released a discussion paper highlighting serious concerns in Papua New Guinea's education reform process over the last 30 years.
Researcher, Jeremy Goro, pointed out that education reforms needed time to be assessed and adjusted - a process that, ideally, should take at least two to three decades.
He has also highlighted the obvious: That existing problems like limited funding and lack of awareness will add to the damage caused to future generations.
