Effectrode Delta-Trem: Full Feature Overview
As you'll know, I'm a huge fan of tube-based effects, and Effectrode is right at the top of my list when it comes to the finest glassware-touting stompboxes around. A few months ago I demoed the incredible Phase-O-Matic Deluxe - and today, we'll be looking at the tremolo version of that concept...the legendary Delta-Trem! A fully stereo (as in, in AND out) effect, you can completely configure the DT to be whatever sort of trem you'd like. If you 'just' want the thickest, most gorgeous mono sine-wave trem you've ever heard, it'll do that. But if you'd like left & right configured completely differently - with different speeds, waveforms, rhythmic patterns and depths - it's equally at home crafting some of the most out-there choppiness you've ever heard. Just remove the jumper connection on the circuit board, hold down the Tap/Sync switch, and you're away! Both sides are driven by a 12AU7 tube running at proper high voltage, so this really is the best trem pedal I've ever played for recreating that amp-like, soupy throb. It's an absolutely stunning box of inspiration. What do you think? The most warm, organic trem pedal you can buy? Or not for you? Comment below! Guitar is a Fender Strat w/ Fralin Real '54 pickups, played through a Vajra JTM45 clone and H&K Puretone. Recorded with sE RNR1 ribbon mics with a Schoeps CMC6 room/voice over mic. 0:00 Intro 2:35 Why Does It Boost Level? 3:42 The Core Sound 4:54 Using It As A Tube Preamp 7:05 Depth Knob 8:33 Speed Knob 10:42 Shape Knob (& Switch) 13:47 Rhythm Knob 15:32 Other Ways To Control The Speed 18:33 Introduction To Stereo 19:43 Stereo TRS Input 20:53 Glitchy Tape-Like Effects 22:32 True Stereo Effects 26:04 It Can Be Whatever You Want It To Be! 27:02 Outro [email protected] Vector images by freepik.com
