EJ Ross: Tiny Dorm Concert

Julian Currier | April 15, 2025 One of the biggest gaps in the landscape of pop music today is artists with truly well-rounded musicality — artists with the ability to conceptualize, write, produce, and perform a great song from the ground up. EJ Ross is a special exception. I’ve seen him learn complex songs expeditiously on keys, come up with chords and transform them into fully realized records, and lead a room of producers and writers with incredible creative command. Now, he’s finally stepping into the spotlight, and letting his artistry take center stage, right where it belongs. When I first started LMU Tiny Dorm, EJ was one of the first people I invited to perform. There wasn't a doubt in my mind that he would deliver anything short of extraordinary. He was reluctant at first, but after some persuasion, he agreed. I asked if I could support him in the performance however he wished, and was honored to be invited to play bass and guitar alongside him. Through this, I was introduced to Joshua Gordon Wilson, a phenomenal singer-songwriter and guitarist, who joined EJ’s performance on guitar and background vocals. Though EJ is still early in his career, he carries himself with remarkable wisdom and a strong vision. He’s unbelievably talented, a joy to collaborate with, and just an all-around great guy. I’m lucky to collaborate with him and call him a friend, and the world should be grateful to have him as an artist. This is one of the shorter performances, but it’s a special one.
