Valentine's Day Love Songs Marathon Song #9 is from El DeBarge's debut solo album, hot on the heels of his family band's "Rhythm of the NIght" album and his subsequent emergence as the star of the band. "Someone" became a Top-20 Adult Contemporary hit in the US, and since as a teenager, I refused to listen to Adult Contemporary, I totally missed it. Discovered it a few years ago, and it quickly became my favorite song on the album. No question it was going to be included in today's Marathon of Love Songs!
